Public statute
This Act is a public statute.
Interpretation
However, it shall not be construed in such a manner as to prohibit an agreement involving, for the employee,
- an indemnity greater than those provided for in sections 4, 5 and 6, or a compensatory holiday longer that those provided for in sections 5 and 6; or
- (Subparagraph repealed).

- Interpretation

The provisions of the National Holiday Act are of public order and may not be departed from even by agreement between the parties.
However, the Act shall not be construed in such a manner as to prohibit an agreement containing more advantageous conditions for the employee.
