Section 79.12
An employee may be absent from work for a period of not more than 104 weeks if the death of the employee’s spouse or child occurs during or results directly from a criminal offence.

Interpretation

An employee whose spouse (see the definition and interpretation of the word "spouse" in section 1 3) ALS) or child of full age dies following a criminal offence is entitled to be absent from work without pay.
The death of the spouse or the child of full age must occur at the time of the criminal offence or be a direct result thereof.
