This brochure is aimed mainly at vocational graduates going into jobs mainly held by women. It explains, using several concrete examples, the concept of pay equity, as well as the historical factors behind the reality that women receive lower salaries in jobs where they are in the majority.
It presents the context leading to the introduction of the Pay Equity Act and clearly explains the pay equity approach that must be adopted by employers. It also advises graduates to give particular attention to pay equity when entering the job market.
